Mt Adams
Via the South Spur route Adams is basically a hike on snow (sometimes ice) that's a heck of a lot of fun. The first time we did it we went straight from the dirt patch/campground you park in and left about 5 am. Leisurely pace and summited about noon. Back to the car by 5. No crevasses, nice people, and a 1700 foot glissade that had me giggling the whole time. :grinning: The next time it was just my wife and I and we decided to camp at about 7,000 for the night. Great views from the tent and a calm evening. Summited by 11 am, another super fun glissade and back to the car by 3. Short drive, quick change into fancy dress and we were at a rehearsal dinner for some friends getting married the next day... up till 2am chatting around a fire pit. Comfy, swanky hotel bed. That's my kinda day.
It's been a long road recovering from a couple of back surgeries in recent years and I'm up to about 30 minutes walking on a treadmill currently... Finished this weeks episode and immediately called a buddy and said "We're doing Adams in July." He's in.
